Ramoji Film City (RFC) is the world’s largest integrated film studio complex at over 2,000 acres (8 km) of land. It is also a popular tourism and recreation centre, containing both natural and artificial attractions. It is situated near Hayathnagar on Hyderabad - Vijayawada, NH9 highway, about 25 km from Hyderabad.The studios attracts over a million tourists, and the complex creates revenues in billions of rupees. Some of the places for tourists to visit include: a Japanese garden, the ETV planet (a multi-purpose editing suit), a pool, artificial waterfalls, an airport terminal, hospital set, railway station, churches, mosques and temples, shopping plazas, palace interiors, chateaus, rural complexes, urban dwellings, and a winding highway. NTR Gardens


NTR Gardens is a small public, urban park of 55 acres (0.22 km2; 0.086 sq mi) adjacent to Hussain Sagar lake in Hyderabad, India. Constructed in several phases since 1999, the area that is predominantly a park is geographically located in the center of the city, and is close to other tourist attractions such as Birla Mandir, Necklace Road and Lumbini Park. It is presently being maintained by the Buddha Purnima Project Authority that functions under the directives of the Government of Andhra Pradesh.

Qutub Shahi Tombs



The famous tombs of the seven Qutub Shahi rulers in the Ibrahim Bagh are located close to the famous Golkonda Fort.The tombs are domed structures built on a square base surrounded by pointed arches.he tombs were once furnished with carpets, chandeliers and velvet canopies on silver poles.

The Prime Minister of India, Shri Jawaharlal Nehru had declared open the entire collection of SalarJung to the public on December 16, 1951.The collection was shifted to its present building in 1968. This museum houses magnificent exhibits of European and Indian paintings and statuary.

Mir Yusuf Ali Khan, popularly known as Salar Jung III (1889-1949) served as Prime Minister to Nizam 1912, at the age of 23, but resigned two and a half years later. Thereafter he dedicated his whole life collecting antiques and art, which were the only passions of his lonely life. He spent considerable portion of his wealth for collecting them. It is believed that he spent a substantial amount of his income over thirty five years to make this priceless collection, his life's passion. Though Salar Jung III is credited with these fantastic collections, it all started with his father and grandfather. This museum is well known throughout India for its prized collections. In the year 1961 it was declared to be an "Institution of National Importance" by an Act of Parliament, known as the Salar Jung Museum Act, 1961. It was originally housed in Diwan Devdi.
Salar Jung Museum is situated on the southern bank of the river Musi. It is not far from the other important monuments of the old city. The historic Charminar, Jama Masjid, High Court, State Central Library and the Osmania General Hospital are all within a radius of one mile from the Salar Jung Museum.

Sanghi Temple

Sanghi Temple is Located about 25 km. from the heart of Hyderabad city.This beautiful temple complex atop the hillock Paramanand Giri beckons the faithful devotees who seek God's infinite blessings.As one approaches the road leading to the Paramanand Giri, a huge Maha Dwaram or gateway welcomes the visitors. A little further away, a long flight of steps leads to the entrance of the temple complex. Stone elephant heads form the banisters of the stairway. Standing at the foot of the hillock, one is awestruck to see the three Gopurams towering into the blue sky. And before ascending to the temple complex on top, one stops by at the shrine of Lord Anjaneya, son of the wind God, who is believed to guide the devotees to the abode of Gods. The red-faced Lord Anjaneya is the embodiment of death to the demons and his very name drives away all evils. The temple opens early in the morning at 5.00 am. For one hour, Suprabhatam is recited, followed by Archana to the deities from 6 am to 8 am. General darshan for the devotees is allowed from 8.30 am to 10.30 am and 4 pm to 6 pm. Poojas and Sevas are held between 6 pm and 8 pm. The temple remains closed between 12 am and 4 pm and after 8 pm. Weekly Abhishekam is performed to the deities between 8 am and 9 am - Sri Ramalingeshwara (Mondays) Sri Hanuman (Tuesdays), Sri Venkateshwara, Ashtalakshmi, Parvathi, Padmavathi and Rama (Fridays)

Gandipet Lake

Gandipet is the most sought after picnic spot for Hyderabadis. It has been developed as a public recreation area with well-laid out lush green gardens and swimming pool. Throughout the year - weekdays or weekends - Gandipet beckons holidaymakers from every nook and corner of the twin cities. Anyone visiting Gandipet is pleased to see a vast stretch of placid water that shimmers golden in the morning sun. The breeze is cool and soothing and the ambience serene.It is a beautiful lake located 20 km. west of Hyderabad. Mir Osman Ali Khan formed this water body as a result of damming of the river Musi in 1920. The idea was to supply water to Hyderabad. The lake is spread over an area of 46 sq.km. and is the main drinking water for the twin cities of Hyderabad and Secunderabad. The Andhra Pradesh Tourism provides a guesthouse called "Sagar Mahal" which was the summer resort of the erstwhile Nizam. It has about ten double rooms. People also visit Gandipet after the rainy season when the reservoir is full. During this period swimming and boating are a common sight.

Falaknuma Palace


Falaknuma Palace, located in Falaknuma, 5km.from Charminar, built by Nawab Vikar-ul-Ulmara, the then Prime Minister of Hyderabad. An Italian architect was designed this palace and the foundation for the construction was laid on 3rd March 1884. The palace took 9 years to complete the construction, totally made with Italian marble and it covers a total area of 9,39,712-sq-metre. It was purchased by Nizam VI in 1897 and was used as a royal guesthouse has a commanding view of the entire city. It was sure that the Falaknuma palace was gifted to the sixth Nizam of Hyderabad, Mehboob Ali Khan by the generous Nawab.One of the highlight's of the palace is the state reception room, whose ceiling is decorated with frescoes and gilded relief's. The ballroom contains a two-ton manually operated organ said to be the only one of its kind in the world. This apart the palace has as many as 220 lavishly decorated rooms and 22 spacious halls. The palace has some of the finest treasures collected by the Nizam.

Mecca Masjid

The Mecca Masjid is placed immediately to the south-west of Charminar on th road to Shalibanda. The works on this mosque commenced in 1614 by Sultan Muhammad Qutb Shah (the sixth Qutb Shahi ruler) and was completed by Aurangazeb in 1693. Built in local granite, it is one of the largest mosques in India and the principal one of the city. The arched gallery, which is a later addition at the south end of the mosque, consists the tombs of all the Nizams from 1803. The mosque building is 225 feet long, 180 feet wide and 75 feet high. This is the biggest mosque in Hyderabad. Its name is derived from the Grand Mosque at Mecca on which it is patterned. The hall is 67 metres by 54 metres and 23 metres high. The roof is supported by 15 arches, five on each of the three sides. The western side is blocked by a high wall to provide the Mehrab. At each end are two huge octagonal columns made out of a single piece of granite each and topped by an arched gallery that is crowned by a dome. This mosque can easily accommodate 10,000 people at a time.

Golconda Fort

The 13th century Golconda Fort was built by the Kakatiya kings. The existing structure was later built by Qutub Shahi Kings into a massive fort with granite walls having eight gates and 87 bastions spread upto 7 kms, in circumference over a span of 62 years. Golconda Fort, popularly known in Telugu as "Golla Konda", which means "Shepherd's Hill", has an exotic story behind it. In 1143, on the rocky hill known as 'Mangalavaram', a shepherd boy came across an image and conveyed to the Kakatiya king, who was ruling at that time. The 10km long road from Golconda to outer Hyderabad was a fantastic market selling jewellery, diamonds, pearls and other gems, popular in all over the world.

Birla Mandir

Charminar is one of the most important landmarks of the city. The monument was built by Muhammad Quli Qutb Shah in 1591 to commemorate the eradication of plague, shortly after he had shifted his capital from Golconda to what now is known as Hyderabad. Legends tell that the emperor Quli Qutb Shah prayed for the end of plague and took the vow to build a mosque on that very place. He ordered the construction of the mosque which became popular as Charminar because of its four characteristic minarets. The top floor of the four-storeyed structure has a mosque which has 45 covered prayer spaces and some open space to accommodate more people in Friday prayers.
